For my introduction I have only used my cinematic footage in 3 second clips, I use six of these in the introduction, I also use short piece of text than fade onto a black screen 1 second before the clip starts playing, when the clip plays the text still appears on top it but disappears a second before the clip ends. I did this so the viewers can focus on both the clips and the information that is being told to them however I didn’t just want to play the text then the clip one after another.
The interviews start the same way, the text is shown on a black screen before the clip is played however I only did this for the very first interview clip. Although I recorded the questions to add to the video, this would make my video a lot longer so i’m having them on the screen when they are being answered, I also feel like this looks and sounds better that it would’ve if I asked the questions. The questions are asked and it goes back and forth from one interviewee to another. One of my interviewees swore during the interview and I thought it would be better to remove it from the video, I did this by cutting the sound where he swears and deleting it, this works pretty well and I didn’t have to add a loud censored sound.
The short outro is shown after the interviews, it features a close up shot of a cigarette being dropped, the next shot shown is a shot of the cigarette being stepped on with the phrase “Be smart, don’t start” in front of the video, when the video fades to black the text stays there for a few second so it is the very last thing the viewer sees, this will hopefully make them remember the text.
